Daily Encouragement For May 10:

God's Baseball Game

Alex and God stood by to observe a baseball game. God's team was playing Satan's team. The Lord's team was at bat, it seemed like the longest game ever, God's team was trailing 1-0, it was the bottom of the ninth, with two outs and Satan was the pitcher.

God's team was at bat, Alex and God watched as the batter stepped up, his name was Love. Because Love never fails, Love swung at the first pitch and hit a single.

Next up to bat was Faith, because Faith works with Love, Faith swung at the first pitch and got a single also, now, two men were on base.

Next up to bat was Works, Satan wound up and threw the first pitch, Works did not swing, ball one. Because Works paid close attention to what Satan was throwing Satan walked Works.

Now, the bases are loaded, God turned to Alex and said, “Here comes my star player.”

He stepped up to bat, his name was Jesus. Satan looked at Jesus and said, “This game is mine, I have won.”

Alex also looked at Jesus and said to God, “He sure doesn't look like much.”

God said, “Never under estimate the strength of My Son”

Satan wound up and threw the first pitch, it was screwball, but Jesus swung at it anyway. To everyone's surprise, Jesus hit that ball and it went soaring, it flew right past Satan and over the fence. It was a Grand Slam!

God's team won the game! God asked Alex, “Do you know why Love, Faith, and Works could not win the game?”

Alex answered, “I do not know.”

God explained, “If your love, faith, and works won the game you would think that you had won the game all by yourself. Love, Faith, and Works will get you on base, but they will not get you a home run. My Son Jesus is the only one who will get you home. Love, faith, and works become a Grand Slam only when you allow Jesus to hit the home run.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” - Titus 3”5-7.
