Faith

Daily Encouragement For July 03:

Faith

No matter how tough life may get, let us rejoice in the Lord for His
everlasting love and mercy.
We are to thank God in every aspect of life,
even if we have trials that we would rather not have.

I believe praise and thanksgiving in the midst of our troubles is pleasing
to God where He will take pleasure in meeting our every need because
of our steadfast faith in Him.

If you are sick in your body, life up your hands to the Lord and thank Him that
your heali...

The Faithful Preacher

Daily Encouragement For June 20:

The Faithful Preacher

Several years ago a preacher moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he
arrived, he had occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown
area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally
given him a quarter too much change.

As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'you better give the
quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it'. Then he thought, 'Oh, forget
it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about ...

God Is Faithful

Daily Encouragement For May 21:

God Is Faithful

About ten years ago, I was not a Christian and I did not even know the true meaning of becoming a
Christian. My husband of twenty some years passed away. I had been raised Catholic, but had fallen
away from the church. I was not attending church; saw no real reason to start back. Until struggling
with the loss of my husband, my next door neighbors invited me to a Gospel Singing at their church.
I really said that I would go but kept trying to figur...

No Time To Wait

Posted by on Thursday, April 5, 2012, In : Salvation

Daily Encouragement For April 05:

I was packing my bags for the final bell of school to ring, eager to get out of English class. When the bell rang I stopped by to see my friends at their lockers. I was annoyed while visiting them, it felt like some act was going to bring an abrupt end to something. My stomach was knotted, my heart was pounding and I was dizzy. Besides the external side affects I was feeling, something else told me, deep down inside I knew that something was coming. I was sudd...

Faithful Is He That Promised

Posted by on Monday, March 26, 2012, In : Poems

Daily Encouragement For March 26:

Are you passing through a testing.

Is your pillow wet with tears?
Do you wonder what the reason,
Why it seems God never hears?

Why it is you have no answer
To your oft-repeated plea,
Why the heaven still is leaden
As you wait on bended knee?

Do you wonder as you suffer,
Whether God does understand,
And if so, why He ignores you,
Fails to hold you in His Hand?

Do black doubts creep in, assail you,
Fears without, and fears within,
Till your brave heart al...

A Broken Spirit

Posted by on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, In : Poems

Daily Encouragement For March 14:

When I was young, it was hard to understand,

Where my life was going, where was that guiding hand?
Suffering through the torments, that abuse can bring,
My future sure seemed hopeless, my heart hung on a string.

As a teen, my troubles only grew more deep,
The tortures were overwhelming, sanity was hard to keep. Punishments were more than physical, and even mental too, The greatest hurt was Spiritual, so what was I to do?

When I felt so all alone, no one seemed ...

The Little Firefighter

Daily Encouragement For March 13:

The 26-year-old mother stared down at her son who was dying of terminal
leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a
strong feeling of determination. Like any parent she wanted her son to
grow up and fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible.
The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dreams
to come true. She took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever
think about what you wanted to be once you grew ...

Do It Today

Daily Encouragement For March 13:

In a class I teach for adults, I gave the assignment to "go
to someone you love, and tell them that you love them." At the
beginning of the next class, one of the students began by saying, "I
was angry with you last week when you gave us this assignment. I
didn't feel I had anyone to say those words to. But as I began driving
home my conscience started talking. Then I knew exactly who I
needed to say `I love you' to.

Five years ago, my father and I had a vicious di...

Daily Encouragement For March 01:

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor.

The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart wa...

Shake It Off

Posted by Christina Scovone on Monday, February 20, 2012, In : Encouragement

Daily Encouragement For February 20:

A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer's well, which was dried up and no longer in use. The farmer heard the mule and after carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving.

So, he called his neighbors together, told them what happened, and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and p...

Daily Encouragement For February 13:

Are you struggling right now and having a hard time to hide the tears? Do you wonder what the reason could be that God never hears?

Do you wonder as you suffer, whether God truly understands, and if so, why He ignores you, fails to hold you in His Hands?

An Attitude of Gratitude

Posted by Christina Scovone on Saturday, February 11, 2012, In : Thanksgiving

Daily Encouragement For February 11:

We have much to be grateful for concerning God, we have the Cross, His grace, His mercy and forgiveness. We have His love, commitment, and favor.

We have much to be grateful for...

Be grateful for the things you do not already have, for if you received everything then you would have nothing to look forward to.

Be grateful for the things you do not know, for it gives you the opportunity to learn something new every day.

Be grateful for the difficulties in l...

It's A Mess

Posted by Christina Scovone on Thursday, January 26, 2012, In : The Love Of God

Daily Encouragement For January 26:

Six-year-old Jacob decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents breakfast. He decided to make pancakes. He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, got some eggs and milk, opened the cupboard door and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor. He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk, an egg, and added some sugar, leaving a big floury trail on the floor which by now ...
