Message Title: Because He Saved Them

Hello My Friend,

Those of us who have put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save us know that we are sinners saved by grace. We know we are not going to heaven based on anything that we have done ourselves, but by what Christ did for us. With that said, there are millions of saved people living lives that makes you question if they are saved or not. It's a good thing that our works do not get us to heaven because we would all be in hell. I thank God every day for sending Jesus to save me and for taking me out of the life I lived, I do not want to ever go back to the life I lived before Christ, but I know if I take my eyes off Him for one minute I could be. True Christians do not live for God because it saves them, they live for God because He saved them.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” - Romans 5:1,2,8-11.

It seemed like every time David got a little bit of peace here comes someone else after him, he may not have always understood why he was being afflicted so much, but he knew that God was the closest to him when he was facing affliction. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” - Psalm 34:18-22.

Unless we have a contrite spirit, meaning humble ourselves before God and admit that we are a sinner we will not be saved. Jesus came to save sinners so, if someone is too proud to come before God and admit they have sinned in their lifetime they will not be saved. “
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:..That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” - Romans 3:23,24,Romans 10:9,10.

David would be so distraught at times that he would actually pray that God would go after those that caused him so much pain.
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.” - Psalm 35:4-9.

We all have people in our lives that will do anything to see us fall, in fact, the closer a person gets to God the more they get persecuted by so called friends and loves ones just waiting to se them fall. It drives me crazy when people who know my faith purposely subject me to the wickedness of their imaginations just to see if I will go against my faith. Satan hates a person who loves God with all their heart, mind, and soul, look what he did to Job, David, even Jesus, but just like they got the victory over Satan, so can we. “
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” - 1 Corinthians 15:54-57.

While we who are saved have victory over death it still does not keep us from being subject to those who love to live in sin. Willful sinners are self destroyers and when sin is finally made to appear in its true colors to them, they will be made a terror to themselves. David talks about the bad state of those who live sinful lives and how merciful God is to the sinner who comes to Him. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil. How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” - Psalm 36:1-4,7-9.

God's loving kindness is precious to those who live their lives for Him, they put themselves under His wing and know they are safe through anything that man tries to do to them. Gracious souls, though still desiring more of God, never desire more than God. They are grateful for all the provisions given to them and serve Him no matter what they face or how much they were given, the result, God even gives them the desires of their heart.

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.” - Psalm 37:1-5,39,40.

True Christians need to never waste a minute fretting about their enemies, but should look forward with the eye of faith, where there will be no reason to envy wicked people over their short-lived glory. They might have their delight for a time, but we, who are faithful to God, no matter what we are faced with, will receive the crown. “
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” - James 1:12.

Today's Prayer: God, It never ceases to amaze me that the only reason I am going to heaven is because I believe in Your Son. I do not have to even serve You to be saved from hell, I know the price of my sins have already been bought and paid for with Jesus died for me. I serve You today, not because I have to, but because I do not want to live the life I lived before I knew You personally. I do not want to go back to the pain and sorrow I had to deal with trying to handle the messes I was in, I do not want to go back to worrying and stressing about things I could have stopped if I had Your strength in me. Thank You for all that You have done for me and continue to do for me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
