Title:
Every Word of God
Hello
My Friend,
Jesus
Said, quoting from the Book of Deuteronomy, “It
is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.”
- Luke 4:4. Every day Christians struggle because they are not living
by every Word of God. We are to accept God's Word as it is and not
alter it under any circumstances. I understand that some things in
the Bible are hard to understand, but we are not meant to understand
them all at once, but gradually so we do not go into information
overload. The more we read, the more we will live by every Word of
God, the less struggles we will have.
Christians perceive the
Word of God in one of three ways, they either read it and accept it
as it is written, they read it and alter it to fit their needs, or
they do not read it at all and get their information by what others
tell them. We all fit into one of these categories and if we want to
truly see God's blessings in our lives we need to learn to live by
every Word of God. “Every
word of God is
pure: he is
a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his
words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Two things
have I required of thee; deny me them
not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither
poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be
full, and deny thee,
and say, Who is
the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God
in
vain.”
- Proverbs 30:5-9.
When we do not live by every word of God, we are stealing
from ourselves, God is our guide, our teacher, and our provider, and
will give us everything we need and desire. If we are not learning
how to obtain them the correct way we will never receive everything
He wants to give us. “No
man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or
putteth
it
under
a bed; but setteth
it
on
a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
For
nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither
any
thing
hid,
that shall not be known and come abroad.
Take
heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be
given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that
which he seemeth to have.”
- Luke 8:16-18.
The Proverbs are amazing and interesting, only
in one sentence can a person be lifted up and convicted at the same
time. They can be confusing to read, I do not know how many times I
have read Proverbs and still find something as though it were never
in there, such as every book, but once you catch it you know it must
be something that God wants you to come to understand and do. Such as
what we read here. “There
is
a generation, whose teeth are
as
swords, and their jaw teeth as
knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from
among
men.
The
horseleach hath two daughters, crying,
Give, give. There are three things
that
are never satisfied, yea,
four things
say not, It
is
enough: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that
is not filled with water; and the fire that
saith not, It
is
enough.”
- Proverbs 30:14-17.
A horseleech is a large leech that
infests the mouth and nasal passages of horses, leeches attach
themselves to skin and suck the blood out of whatever it is that it
attaches itself to, so, they literally suck the life out of them. The
horseleech to a person is the world, it's daughters are lust and
envy, they are always crying give me more, they attach themselves to
every wicked and immoral thing imagined, yet are never satisfied. The
world sucks the life out of people, it does not care about them, and
it has no desire to see them successful, people die always wanting,
yet never getting what they really need. “Ye
adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the
world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the
world is the enemy of God. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good,
and doeth it
not, to him it is sin.”
- James 4:4,17.
Often throughout the Bible you read about men
fearing God, which sometimes is addresses to women as well, but once
in a while something pops up to remind women that they to need to
live by every word of God. A
woman has a great deal of influence on a man, one who is wicked and
controls a man destroys the man and their children as well, but a
virtuous woman, one who lives by every word of God is blessed. She
is in command of her own spirit, a help meet to her husband, a good
teacher to her children, and is firm for the principles of God’s
Word. A virtuous woman is honored by God and is prosperous in all
that she does.
“Give
not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth
kings. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is
far above rubies. She
girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She
maketh fine linen, and selleth it;
and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength
and honour are
her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her
mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is
the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household,
and eateth not the bread of idleness. Favour
is
deceitful, and beauty is
vain: but
a woman that
feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
- Proverbs 31:3,10,17,24-27,30.
God's
Word never fails and if we want to receive all the blessings that he
has in store for us than we need to read and follow all of it. He
knows what He is talking about. The devil loves to get us to think
that we do not have to live by Every Word or that we can get by with
someone telling us what we are supposed to do, but he is lying and
deceiving us. While living by every word of God is not what saves us,
it is what helps us out of struggles and keeps us guarded against the
devil and all his attacks. “For
this is the will of God, even
your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That
every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in
sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as
the Gentiles which know not God:
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.”
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5,7.
Today's
Prayer:
God, I believe that everything in Your Word is true and that I will
receive all the promises You made as I learn and grow in Your Word.
Lord, I want to receive all the blessings that You have for me here
on earth and up in heave too. I know the only way I can do that is by
living by every one of Your Words. Lord, give me Your power, wisdom,
and guidance, make me a hearer and a doer of Your Word. Let me not be
tempted by others who are not living by every word and use me to be
an example to others. Give me Your mercy, grace, and strength to keep
going and give me patience to wait for Your timing in seeing
everything come to pass. In Jesus' name. Amen.
