Title:
An Unbreakable Seal
Hello
My Friend,
No
greater love has anyone shown than Jesus Christ to give His life as a
sacrifice for all mankind, Jesus died for everyone, past, present,
and future. Why? Two reasons, one, to save all who believe in Him
from the judgment we all deserve for sin, and two, to reconcile us
with God. “He
that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is
true. For
he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not
the Spirit by measure unto
him.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that
believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God
abideth on him.”
- John 3:33-36.
In
the Song of Solomon, we have a wife speaking, not to her husband, but
of him, and it is a sad song, she sings of the distress she was under
after her husband walks away because she neglected him. “I
sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that
knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my
undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the
drops of the night. I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I
have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? My beloved put in his
hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him. I
rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and
my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. I
opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was
gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not
find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.”
- Song of Solomon 5:2-6.
This
is an illustration of a saved soul who neglects Christ after being
saved, when we receive Christ as our Savior He cleanses us and
removes all the filth of sin from our lives. Those who remain living
sinful lives with no effort to remove the sin will seek Christ, but
not be able to find Him. While Christ never leaves us He will
withdraw Himself, step back and let us deal with the consequences of
sin all on our own. It's not to see us suffer, it's to get us to
repent. “As
many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and
repent.
Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open
the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with
me.”
- Revelation 3:19,20.
Experience
makes the believer understand that only through God's grace they are
saved, that they truly belong to Christ, and nothing can separate
them from Him. It's
sad that so many saved people will never understand just how much He
loves them and wants the best for them. God's mercy and grace upon us
is just amazing, but if we do not acknowledge it how can we ever
expect to know His presence in our lives. “Whither
is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy
beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee. My beloved is
gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the
gardens, and to gather lilies. I am my beloved's, and my beloved is
mine: he feedeth among the lilies. My dove, my undefiled is but one;
she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that
bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and
the concubines, and they praised her.”
- Song of Solomon 6:1-3,9.
I
was talking to someone the other day who just could not trust God
anymore because of what happened in their life. Can I tell you, we
cannot blame God for anything that happens to us, yes, He does have
the power to intervene, but He will never intervene with mans free
will. God also sees beyond what we see on the surface, we may never
completely understand God's will, but we can trust that He knows what
He is doing and will help us get through all of life's challenges.
“Knowing
that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by
Jesus, and shall present us
with you. For all things are
for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the
thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.”
- 2 Corinthians 4:14,15.
When
a person gets saved, fireworks go off, it's as if a huge weight comes
off our bodies. The more we get to know Christ, the more we realize
He loves us and is ours forever. In fact, the closer we get to Him
the more we learn what His desires are toward us, which is
illustrated here by a wife realizing the love of her husband. “I
am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. Come, my beloved, let
us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. Let us get
up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether
the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I
give thee my loves. The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are
all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for
thee, O my beloved.”
- Song of Solomon 7:10-13.
Christ is the vine, we are the
branches, in order for our lives to flourish with an abundance of
fruit we need to nourish our branches with the food it needs to grow
by feeding the vine first. Any plant that produces ripe, edible,
sweet fruit gets that way with a lot of pruning, weeding, and feeding
it with the nutrients and water it needs. Our relationship with
Christ is the same way, the more love we give to the vine the more
nutrients we get to our branch, which makes us more fruitful. “I
am the vine, ye
are
the
branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If
a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered;
and men gather them, and cast
them
into
the fire, and they are burned.
If
ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will,
and it shall be done unto you.”
- John 15:5-7.
It's sad to say, but so many people whither and
die in their souls because they do not abide in the vine. Once you
are saved, you are always saved, but it can feel like you are dead
inside when all the circumstances just pile up. Honestly, we are
going to suffer once in a while, just like any relationship, it takes
work, but Jesus loves us unconditionally and patiently waits for us
to come to Him for help. He will never force Himself upon anyone, He
will guide us, but He will never interfere unless ask Him. His seal
is upon us, He loves us, knows us, and He will never leave us nor we
forsake us, but if we truly want to see things change in our lives we
must grow in our relationship with Christ. “For
this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his
commandments are not grievous. For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the
victory that overcometh the world, even
our faith. And
this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing
according to his will, he heareth us: And
if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have
the petitions that we desired of him.”
- 1 John 5:3,4,14,15.
Today's
Prayer:
Jesus, No matter how much we resist, no matter how many times we back
away from You, You are right there, patiently waiting for us to come
to You with all that we are going through. You want to comfort us,
guide us, and give us hope through all the circumstances we face. You
knock and knock, but we tend to neglect You and lose the sense of
Your presence when we do not hear You. Lord, open our ears and
hearts, help us to get past our circumstances and come to You, I know
it is only by coming to You that I can have the true victory. Amen.
