The
Curse Is Broken
Date:

Today's
Chapters:
1
Chronicles 17-19
Hello My Friend,
Before God
even created the heavens and earth He knew that Adam and Eve would
sin and cast the curse of a dead spirit down to all mankind. However,
Adam and Eve knew that God would provide as way for that curse to be
broken. The only one who can end the curse is Jesus Christ. “If
in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most
miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the
firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man
came also the resurrection of the dead. For
as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
- 1 Corinthians 15:19-22.
As
David was setting up his home and kingdom he wanted to make sure God
had a home too, he asked Nathan the prophet what he should do about
building a more suitable place to put the Ark of God. God did not
want David to build temple for Him, instead he reveals an amazing
prophecy. “Now
it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan
the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the
covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains. Go and tell David my
servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to
dwell in: And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that
thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed
after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his
kingdom.
He
shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. I
will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my
mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: But
I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his
throne shall be established for evermore.” - 1
Chronicles 17:1,4,11-14.
God promised David that He would
establish His Kingdom through his seed, this is a foretelling of
Jesus who would be God's seed established through David's seed. This
is in contrast to what God told Eve. “And
I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his
heel.” - Genesis 3:15. What this
means is that her seed would bring a division between hers and Adam's
seed, hence her seed (Jesus) verses his seed (man). A sacrifice would
be made through her seed that would bring an end to the division.
Jesus would come here in the flesh through Mary, a virgin, conceived
by the Holy Ghost, to die by the hands of man, in order to bring
reconciliation to God and man. “Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so
death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Nevertheless
death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned
after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of
him that was to come. For if by one man's offence death reigned by
one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift
of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”
- Romans 5:12,14,17.
David was one of
the most prosperous and blessed kings of all time, his success was
due to the fact that he sought God in every step of his life, with
the exception of Bathsheba. His love for God and his prayer life were
the key to his greatness, in every battle he sought God and saw
victory through it too. “Now
after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and
subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the
Philistines. So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment
and justice among all his people. And
Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of
Ahilud, recorder. And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son
of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe; And Benaiah
the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and
the sons of David were chief about the king.”
- 1 Chronicles 18:1,14-17.
The key to victory
over every battle we face is constant communication with God, we are
to never cease from communicating with Him. Whether it is by prayer,
reading His Word, or simply acknowledging and praising Him throughout
the day, communicating with God is essential in the Christian's life
if we want to see our battles won. ”Submit
yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you. Draw
nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye
sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and
mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your
joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he
shall lift you up.”
- James 4:7-10.
Those whom believe in the Gospel of Christ,
have accepted Him, and received Him as the only one who can
save them from death and hell are no longer bound by the curse passed
down to them from Adam. “Knowing that a
man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of
Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be
justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law:
for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if,
while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found
sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. I am
crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by
the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I
do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the
law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
- Galatians 2:16,17,20,21.
While our works and faithfulness
to God are not required to keep us saved, it is what we do to change
our lives after we are saved that makes the difference between just
getting in the door to heaven and being a testimony for God so that
others can get saved as well. “Brethren,
if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him
know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way
shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
- James 5:19,20.
Today's
Psalm: 109:31 - “For he shall
stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that
condemn his soul.”
Today's Proverb: 14:25 - “A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.”
Today's
Prayer:
God, I cannot thank You enough for sending Your Son Jesus to break
the curse that I inherited. Jesus, thank You for dying for me to
break that curse, but You didn't just die, You arose from the dead to
not only give victory over Your own death, but for mine as well. I am
no longer in bondage to Satan, death, or hell because of the
sacrifice that You made for me. I am trusting only in what You did to
keep me safe no matter what battles I face, I know that You are
always with me. God, teach me to be an example and a testimony of the
wonderful and amazing life that can be lived with You in it. Most of
all to show me how to reach those who need You. In Jesus' name.
Amen.
Enjoy
the rest of your day/night.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
