Title:
A Bigger God
Hello
My Friend,
No matter if we are rich, poor, famous, or
infamous, we all face trials in life, we can worry and stress
ourselves out, but all that does is create more problems. Amazingly,
you can be rich, poor, famous, or infamous, and be accepted by God,
through Jesus Christ, but the key to receiving His blessings beyond
salvation is trusting Him to get us through the problems. We have a
choice, we can accept that the problems will never go away and do
what is needed to just get by on our own. Or we can spit in the
devil's face and tell him that we have a bigger God on our side to
help us win the battle.
“And
he said unto his disciples,
Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat;
neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
The
life is more than meat, and the body
is
more
than
raiment.
Consider
the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have
storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye
better than the fowls?
For
all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your
Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But
rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be
added unto you.”-
Luke 12:22-24,30,31.
Job was a faithful, godly man,
prosperous, famous, and probably considered to be like a king in his
day, in a matter of days he lost his family, wealth, friends, and
health. On top of that the only four people that would talk to Him
were condemning him. He could not understand why he was going through
so much suffering and although he did not curse God he did question
why He was not answering him. Finally, God answers Him, and asks him
about eighty questions knowing that he could not possibly answer one
of them. He
elaborates on the power and strength of just one of His creations.
“Canst
thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which
thou lettest down? Canst
thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words
unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for
a servant for ever? None
is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before
me? Who
hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the
whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power,
nor his comely proportion.”
- Job 41:1-4,10-12.
God tells Job that you cannot possibly
know everything about this powerful creature, he is mine and I am not
going to reveal to you or anyone how I created him. God was trying to
get Job to realize just how little all of us know about the things we
already accept just by faith. We cannot please God without faith nor
can we expect to receive His blessings without it. “Through
faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,
so that things which are seen were not made of things which do
appear. But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.”
- Hebrews 11:3,6.
The world strives on trying to figure out
how God created everyone and thing, but the truth is they will never
know how God created everything. They might come up with these lame
theories, but they are only ways to get people away from the truth.
We are all born with the knowledge of God, it is over the years that
one becomes distant to that fact as they allow the world to enter
their lives. “For
the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are
clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because
that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish
heart was darkened.”
- Romans 1:20,21.
Those who have faith in God, as Job did, do
not search for the answers to all of life's problems, but simply
trust our loving Creator to get us through them. All the fears and
frustrations will vanish if we truly trust in His loving care. No
one, through human reasoning, is able to understand why the godly
suffer, but we can come to the understanding the Job did, he answers
God.
“I
know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be
withholden from thee. Who is he that hideth counsel without
knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too
wonderful for me, which I knew not. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will
speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. I have heard
of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. And it was
so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD
said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and
against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that
is right, as my servant Job hath. And
the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends:
also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
- Job 42:2-7,10.
Job is saying, “I know You can do
anything, I may not understand everything, but I am no one to
question You.” This brought Job to the realization that he was not
meant to know all the answers to life's problems, he just had to
trust God and keep living by faith. After Job was put to the test he
was blessed with double of what he lost. We too must come to the
place where we realize we do not know all the answers, but trust God
to give us the ones we need to know. God knows what He is doing,
every trial, every circumstance, every situation we get into, is not
by chance, it is all to get us to realize that we have a bigger God
than our situation. “And
Jesus answering saith unto them, Have
faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say
unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things
which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
“
- Mark 11:22-24.
Today's
Prayer:
God, No matter how much I believe that my circumstances are only
temporary and that You will take care of me through them I still let
my circumstances control me sometimes. I want to take control of my
circumstances and know that You are the one to do that. As I do my
part, trusting You and having faith and hope in You, I know You will
do Your part in seeing the possible come out of what looks
impossible. In Jesus' name. Amen.
