of Today's Message:
Every generation has its mockers of God, and while God is
longsuffering that none should perish He is not longsuffering in His
judgment upon the wicked. We have a choice, accept Christ and be
saved or reject Christ and perish. All
Scripture quoted from the King James Version, verses in red are
quoted by Jesus.

My Friend,
“Knowing
this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking
after their own lusts, And
saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers
fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of
the creation...But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that
one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as
one day. The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of
the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be
burned up.”

We can deny it all we want, but Christ
is coming and one day the entire world will be destroyed. We get a
glimpse of what it would be like in the Old Testament. Sodom and
Gomorrah was a wicked and vile town, no stranger would dare tarry as
the men of the town would attack them if they got their hands on
them. God had enough and was about to destroy the town. God told
Abraham that He was sending some angles over to Sodom and Gomorrah
and would be judged for their wickedness. Abraham remembering that
Lot was there pleads with Him not to destroy it if there were any
found righteous in the land.
“And
the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham
went with them to bring them on the way. And
the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; And
the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and
because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see
whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which
is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And the men turned their
faces from thence, and
went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. And Abraham
drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the
wicked?..And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within
the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes...And he
said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this
once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not
destroy it for ten's sake. And
the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham:
and Abraham returned unto his place.”
- Genesis 18:16-23,26,32,33.
The
time had come for God's judgment to come upon Sodom and Gomorrah, God
sent two angels to warn Lot and his family to get out of there. “And
the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and
thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city,
bring them out of this place: For
we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great
before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his
daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will
destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in
law. And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot,
saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here;
lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city...Then the LORD
rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD
out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and
all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the
ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a
pillar of salt.”
- Genesis 19:12-15,24-26.
The
son-in-laws laughed at Lot and did not get saved that day, Lot
stopped to look at all he was leaving, in his haste the angels pulled
him to safety along with his wife and daughters, but his wife could
not let go, she looked back an instant she turned into a pillar of
salt. This is a perfect illustration of salvation, if you have
accepted Christ as your Savior you are pulled to safety, saved from
hell upon your physical death. If you have rejected Him you will not
be saved from hell upon your physical death. “He
that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and
he shall be my son.
But
the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have
their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which
is the second death.”
- Revelation 21:7,8.
We have read of some abominable things to
God, these are things that would even make our skin crawl to witness,
homosexuality and incest, I am sorry, but it's disgusting, but it
proves that everything we see today God has already seen and every
nation is headed for a severe punishment. God
despises wickedness committed by the flesh more than any other sins.
However,
we are all sinners, we cannot judge anyone because we have flesh too,
we all face the same judgment for our sins, which is death and
hell.
“Know
ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be
not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are
washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of
the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God...What?
know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for
two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But
he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication.
Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that
committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye
not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with
a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's.”
- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11,16-20.
We can be saved, Christ, who
knew no sin, died for sinners, He shed His innocent blood to give us
life. He will save anyone who comes to Him, but we must go to Him
ourselves, no one can save us unless we ask Him to save us. No one
escapes hell unless they have the blood of Christ applied to their
soul. “But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us. Much
more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from
wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall
be saved by his life.”
- Romans 5:8-10.

Today's
Prayer:
God, we
are called to be obedient to Your Word which compels us to make the
most of every opportunity because the days are evil. As we see evil
crouching in at every level, it’s all the more reason why we must
be vigilant to live pure lives so that the light of Jesus shines
through our words and our actions in this wicked world. We want to
pay close attention to ourselves and persevere in the truths
presented in Scripture so we will ensure salvation both for ourselves
and those whom we have opportunity to influence. Lord, help us to be
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable and honorable to You. In Jesus'
name. Amen.
