God wants you to build Him a house, one that has a good solid
foundation and is movable. All
Scripture quoted from the King James Version.
Hello
My Friend,
A
state of sin set apart from Christ, is a state of spiritual death and
bondage to Satan. However, Christ’s finished work on the cross
abolished the state of spiritual death and bondage to Satan by His
death, burial, and resurrection. It is only by our believing in and
accepting Him that we are set free, once we are set free God gives us
plans to build Him a house, Christ being the foundation, and the Holy
Spirit being the frame.
“For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them...That at
that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth
of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no
hope, and without God in the world: But
now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by
the blood of Christ...Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household
of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In
whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy
temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an
habitation of God through the Spirit.”
- Ephesians 2:10,12,13,19-22.
Moses, as mediator between God
and Israel, having received the judgments from God comes
down to the people, acquaints them with the laws he had received,
writes
them down, and reads them to the people. He
returns to God as commanded to receive further directions, for forty
days and forty nights he was with God was up on the mount. “And
the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there:
and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments
which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up,
and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.”
- Exodus 24:12,13.
God has given us instructions, tables of
stone that are to be impressed upon the heart of every believer. His
instructions can only be found in His Word, it contains all His laws
and commandments needed to be a holy temple in the Lord. “All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly
furnished unto all good works.”
-2 Timothy 3:16,17.
God instructs Moses to build Him a house,
“And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel,
that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly
with his heart ye shall take my offering. And this is the offering
which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,.. And let
them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According
to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the
pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.”
- Exodus 25:1-3,8,9.
Because
they were in the wilderness they dwelt in tents, God ordered His
house to be a tabernacle, so it would move with them. Today, God
still dwells in a movable tent, the heart of every believer. “For
we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved,
we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in
the heavens.”
-2 Corinthians 5:1. The
people were to furnish Moses with the materials, by their own free
will. We should ask, not only, What must we do? but, What must we do
for God? Whatever they gave, they must give it with all their heart,
cheerfully, not grudgingly, for God loves a cheerful giver. “But
this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and
he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every
man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God
is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having
all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:..Being
enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through
us thanksgiving to God.”
- 2 Corinthians 9:6-8,11.
Every part of the tabernacle, down
to the loops of a curtain, was given specific details on how it was
to be assembled and attached to become one tabernacle. “Moreover
thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined
linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning
work shalt thou make them. The length of one curtain shall be eight
and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and
every one of the curtains shall have one measure. The five curtains
shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains
shall be coupled one to another. And thou shalt make loops of blue
upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling;
and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another
curtain, in the coupling of the second. Fifty loops shalt thou make
in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of
the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may
take hold one of another. And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold,
and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one
tabernacle.”
-Exodus 26:1-6.
It was important that Moses follow these
instructions entirely, one missed loop could have done a lot of
damage. While we may not ever see the significance of knowing every
loop and tache needed in building God's house, they are significant
to God. Every piece in that tabernacle was a foreshadow of Christ.
“But
Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater
and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not
of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by
his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats,
and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the
purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge
your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
-Hebrews 9:11-14.
God wants us to build Him a house, a house
in which He can be comfortable in, a house in which He is seen in by
others, but He needs a good foundation. Without a good foundation no
matter what we build upon it it would crash. Our foundation is none
other than Jesus Christ. “For
other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus
Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver,
precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made
manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed
by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall
receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer
loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Know ye not
that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in
you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for
the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
- 1 Corinthians 3:11-17.
While our salvation rests solely
upon the completed work of Jesus Christ, heavenly rewards are earned
by building God's house. “For
the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels;
and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Verily
I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of
death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.”
-Matthew 16:27,28. True service done in the power of the indwelling
Spirit, is of eternal standing, but fleshly service is perishable and
will bring down the house of every person who defiles the temple of
God.
Today's
Psalm:
127:1 - “Except
the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except
the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
Today's Proverb: 10:25 - “As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.”
Today's
Prayer:
God,
our faith is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus as our chief cornerstone. It is through Him that
our whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy
temple bringing glory and honor to Your name. Lord, lead me and guide
me as Your indwelling Holy Spirit transforms me into Your image day
by day as I build every detail of Your house. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Enjoy
the rest of your day/night.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
