God Reveals Things

Kings 6-8
Hello My Friend,
Christians
who daily walk with God are blessed with something no person that
lives in the world can receive, a one on one relationship with Him.
Through that relationship He reveals mysterious things to us and
while He will not show every mystery, He will reveal things to us as
we are ready to handle them. The
only way God even attempts to reveals things to us is through our
Lord Jesus Christ, whom is the Lord of glory. “Howbeit
we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of
this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom,
which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the
princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not
have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not
seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the
things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
- 1 Corinthians 2:6-9.
Now, once God reveals that only Jesus
can save, He will start revealing other things, such why and when you
are to get baptized, why join a church, and as you grow, He will even
reveal things that you need to let go of to receive even better
blessings. At first, God may reveal things through Pastor and
teachers of His Word. Elisha
was faithful, obedient, compassionate, and not only taught God's
Word, but lived by it as well, God used him to bring many people to
Him. Elisha, was also a teacher of the sons of the prophets, in other
words, he taught the sons of men of God (preachers) to be preachers
as well. Now, there were so many students that there was no room for
them all, the students asked if they could build a bigger place.
Elisha willing to go with them was able to show them a rather
interesting miracle from God.
“And
the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place
where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray
thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make
us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. And one
said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he
answered, I will go...But as one was felling a beam, the axe head
fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was
borrowed. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him
the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the
iron did swim. Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out
his hand, and took it.”
- 2 Kings 6:1-3,5-7.
Sometimes the simplest things reveal
the power of God, at times His miracles can seem odd or even a bit
small, but who questions a miracle from God. All miracles come from
the Almighty God and should always be praised. It's the small
miracles that give us hope and increase our faith for the bigger
miracles. The greatest miracle of all is given to every believer of
the Lord Jesus Christ and that is eternal life. “Now
the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the
everlasting covenant, Make
you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that
which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be
glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
- Hebrews 13:20,21.
Once God starts revealing the miracles He
creates in us, He will often reveal any sin or hindrances in our
lives that cause our relationship with Him to falter. He will also
reveal warnings ahead of time to give us a chance to repent before we
face the consequences of them. Back
in the time of Moses, God warned Israel if they turned from Him and
began to worship and serve other gods, that He would bring them into
distress, so much distress that there would be a famine so big that
the people would resort to eating donkeys heads and their own
children. “And
thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and
of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the
siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress
thee:”
- Deuteronomy 28:53. Now, centuries later, that
gruesome prophecy is becoming a reality.
“And
there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it,
until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the
fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver...And
the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This
woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we
will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and
I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him:
and she hath hid her son. And it came to pass, when the king heard
the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by
upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth
within upon his flesh.”
- 2 Kings 6:25,28-30.
Can you imagine a sight so detestable
that a person is willing to sacrifice their own child to survive?
That goes to show you just how meaningless other peoples lives are to
some people and how low they will go to fulfill their own selfish
needs. Imagine how the king felt? He couldn't stand to hear anymore,
as he ripped his clothes he revealed a sackcloth upon his head. The
sackcloth was a sign of humbling himself before God, perhaps Jehoram
hoped to avert God's anger, as his father had done, but there was no
spirit of self-humiliation, or of true repentance in his heart, so
nothing changed. No matter how far we fall into the pit, God can pull
us out of it, but it takes more than just reading words or knowing
that God has done something for others, it takes a willing heart. “O
LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me
alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing
unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance
of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour
is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the
morning.”
- Psalm 30:3-5.
The
most effective way for God to reveal things to us is simply by
reading His Word and studying it ourselves. We can get help from
people who walk with God, but nothing is revealed to us more than
reading His Word for ourselves. And that means all of His Word, I
admit there are some chapters in this great book that I wonder, what
possibly can I learn from reading this, but He always reveals
something, even if it is to understand the actual meaning of a
persons name. “All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That
the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
works.”
- 2 Timothy 3:16,17.

God will reveal everything you need to know, you just have to be
willing to listen, obey, and trust Him to show them to you. “In
that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I
thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid
these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto
babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
All
things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the
Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and
he
to
whom the Son will reveal
him.
And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately,
Blessed
are
the
eyes which see the things that ye see:”
- Luke 10:21-23.
Today's
Psalm:
14:2 - “The
LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if
there were any that did understand, and seek God.”
Today's Proverb: 9:6 - “Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.”
Today's
Prayer:
God, There is much that You have to reveal to us as we grow closer to
You, but hindrances and plain lack of understanding often stunts our
growth. Lord, thank You for giving me the honor of even be able to
read Your Word and You reveal things to me. Keep me in Your Word,
lead me to godly, likeminded people also who know Your Word, and help
me to let go to things that hinder me from Your revealing other
things to me. Give me also wisdom and understanding as I seek to walk
with You daily. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Enjoy
the rest of your day/night.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
