Hello My Friend,
The Christian life may not
be as glamorous as any other life, but it is the only life with
Almighty God in it, it's the only life that teaches us to have
respect for our bodies and how to prosper in a godly way. I caught
the end of a program the other night, these three girls, all
beautiful, were trying to convince the world that their lives as high
class prostitutes was the best life ever. Their manager's response,
what's the big deal, it's just sex. It is sad, but to the world that
response is okay, it's normal to think that sex is just some
recreational activity to feed the lust of man. While God hates all
sin, fornication is among the worse because it is sin committed with
the body itself, fornication is not just unmarried sex, it is all
immoral acts committed with the body.
“Know
ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be
not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners,
shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye
are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name
of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God...Meats
for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it
and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and
the Lord for the body....Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth
is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth
against his own body.”
- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11,13,18.
As Moses continues giving
instructions to Israel upon entering the promised land he comes to
acts done with the body. He warns them that God is among them, “For
the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee,
and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be
holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from
thee...There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a
sodomite of the sons of Israel. Thou shalt not bring the hire of a
whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for
any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy
God...When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not
slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee;
and it would be sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it
shall be no sin in thee.”

Prostitution and
homosexuality are among the acts of the body that is an abomination
to God, they are cause for judgment just like any other sin. That's
the reason so many people flee from God, they want to be free to live
the way they want, even society has allowed such acts as if God made
them that way. Let me tell you, God does not make a person gay or the
wrong gender, people make themselves to be that way. They just choose
to take their sinful lifestyles to the max and to justify their
actions say that it came from God. You know, God does love them too,
Christ died for all of us, every person living a wicked lifestyle can
be saved and repent of that lifestyle, but they must receive Him. “Do
ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth
in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit
yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your
hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be
afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to
mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight
of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
- James 4:5-10.
Next
Moses comes to divorce, “When
a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that
she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some
uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and
give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is
departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. And
if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement,
and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if
the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; Her former
husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife,
after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD:
and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God
giveth thee for an inheritance. When a man hath taken a new wife, he
shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any
business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up
his wife which he hath taken.”
- Deuteronomy 24:1-5.
Marriage is very sacred to God, it
means much more to Him than a man and woman saying “I do.” It is
a
union
in
which
the
man and woman
have
united.
They are no longer two separate people, but joined as one. Jesus
said, “It
hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a
writing of divorcement: But
I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for
the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and
whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”
- Matthew 5:31,32.
When
we accept Christ as our Savior we enter a marriage with Him, a union,
we are joined as one, and nothing can separate or divorce us from
Him. Therefore, God sees a marriage between a man and woman just as
He would a marriage between Christ and His convert, the only way our
receiving Christ would be in a sense annulled is if the person
received Christ in vain. “Moreover,
brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By
which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto
you, unless ye have believed in vain.”
- 1 Corinthians 15:1,2.
Now,
the
law of respecting the corporal punishment to be inflicted upon the
guilty is introduced, “If
there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that
the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and
condemn the wicked. And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to
be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be
beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should
exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother
should seem vile unto thee...Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers
weights, a great and a small. Thou
shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just
measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land
which the LORD thy God giveth thee. For all that do such things, and
all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.”
- Deuteronomy 25:1-3,13-16.
Every
punishment from God is just and should be handled with solemnity,
meaning those who see it may be filled with dread, and be warned to
repent of their wicked ways. Justice and equity will bring down upon
us the blessing of God. Those who do unrighteously are an abomination
God and will face judgment for their actions.
Those
who judge themselves, repent of and forsake their sins, and put away
their wicked lifestyles will not only find God's grace to not only
save their soul, but their body as well as they learn to prosper
God's way. “Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law
doth he meditate day and night. And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
- Psalm 1:1-3
Today's
Psalm: 37:7 -
“Rest
in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of
him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked
devices to pass.”
Today's Proverb: 28:13 - “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Today's
Prayer: God, As we walk daily with
You, our presence will make a difference in a classroom, workplace,
neighborhood, in a community, and most especially in our families
lives. With Your sanctifying seal upon our lives we no longer live
according to the lust of our flesh, but the life of Christ who
resides in us. May we see our world turned upside down as people put
away evil from among them while being transformed by Christ’s
redemptive power. In Jesus' name. Amen.
