About The True Church
What
Is A True Christian Church? One Following The Doctrine of
Christ
Since
Christ is the Church, a genuine Christian church is grounded on the
life, death, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ, whom is the
only begotten Son of God. It bases it's doctrine and teachings on the
Bible and follows the New Testament as the characteristics of life.
It acknowledges that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one, that
there is a heaven and a hell and there is only one way to heaven and
that is by receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior. If a church that
you attend does not live by these truths than you are being deceived
and seriously need to think about finding another church.
What
is the difference between a church and religion?
Religion
is following a specific belief set up by someone of authority. A
church is a place of worship, or fellowship based on a specific
religion. A caution goes out on this, not all churches that say they
are a certain religion follow the same beliefs.
In the early
church, creeds were often used to identify the basic beliefs of
Christians. What is known as The Apostles Creed, has been recognized
as perhaps the oldest historic statement of the fundamental beliefs
of True Christianity. Whether or not it was actually composed by the
Apostles as some have alleged, it can be traced back as far as the
late second century where it was used as a baptismal creed in
Rome.
Here
is the creed that all churches need to follow in order to be a True Christian church:
"I
believe in God Almighty, And in Christ Jesus, His only begotten Son,
our Lord, Who was born of the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary. I
believe Jesus was crucified and died, was buried in a tomb, and on
the third day of His death He resurrected from the dead. I believe
Jesus ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God, the
Father, where He comes to judge the living and the dead. I believe in
the Holy Ghost, who is part of the Holy Trinity of God. I believe all
who believe and receive these truths are saved and going to heaven
only by their faith in Christ and upon their confession they receive
God's gift of eternal life, not by their works, but by faith alone.
All True Churches of Christ Should Believe the Following:
God: One God Almighty living God, in the form of three persons, God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The first person in the Godhead.
Jesus Christ: The second person in the Godhead, the only begotten Son of God, sinless, and perfect, was born of a virgin, died on the cross, was buried in a tomb, and resurrected three days later to give victory over death, hell, and sin to those who believe in and accept Him.
The Holy Spirit: The third person in the Godhead, also known as the Holy Ghost, or the Spirit of God, who lives in all who receives Christ.
Sin: Any wrong doing in the eyes of God with the body, mind, or mouth. Sin, rather a sin nature was passed down to all mankind as a result of sin by Adam.
Sinner: Everyone except Christ was born with a sin nature, a curse passed down to man from Adam. A sinner is someone who has sinned in their lifetime.
Heaven and Hell: Heaven, the place where God, Jesus, angels, and all those who believe in and receive Christ dwell. Hell a place of torment and eternal damnation, all who are receive Christ receive eternal life enter heaven upon the death of the body, all who reject Christ receive eternal death and hell upon the death of the body and a second death when Christ returns.
Christ's Death, Burial, & Resurrection: Christ died the sinless Lamb to be the atonement for the sinner, He was buried and arose three days later to give all who believe in and receive Him victory over sin, death, and hell.
Salvation: Salvation only comes by faith in Christ alone, we are not saved from sin, death, and hell by works of the law, but by believing in the Gospel, receiving Him as our Savior, and trusting only in Him to save us.
Eternal Life: Everlasting life is given freely to all who have received Christ as their Savior, it means forever, sin cannot take it away because we are saved by grace, not works.
Baptism: A public profession of faith by a person who has received Christ as their Savior.
Bible: The Word of God, the perfect, infallible, words of the only living God, that always has been before the world began, written by the inspiration of God, and made flesh in the form of Jesus Christ.
