Some
scholars say that those who decided which texts to include in the
King James Bible left out some manuscripts that God meant to have
included. These same scholars say that some texts were included that
should not have been. One such example is the Book of Revelation.
We must realize that God is an all-knowing, hands-on God. We
should rest in the knowledge that He has seen to it that every word
of the Holy Bible was specially chosen by the Creator of the universe
and that the King James Version is the truest form of God's Word.
In
regards to the Apocrypha books, the Apocrypha is not commonly
accepted as a credible historical source. It was accepted through the
Catholic religion. The time line for most of these unholy books only
goes back to the Middle Ages. Every New Testament book, however, can
be traced back to the first century.
First, in the days in which our Bible was translated, the Apocrypha was accepted reading based on its historical value, though not accepted as Scripture by anyone outside of the Catholic church. The King James translators therefore placed it between the Old and New Testaments for its historical benefit to its readers. They did not integrate it into the Old Testament text as do the corrupt Alexandrian manuscripts.
That
they rejected the Apocrypha as divine is very obvious by the seven
reasons which they gave for not incorporating it into the text. They
are as follows:
1. Not one of them is in the Hebrew language,
which was alone used by the inspired historians and poets of the Old
Testament.
2. Not one of the writers lays any claim to inspiration.
3. These books were never acknowledged as sacred Scriptures by the Jewish Church, and therefore were never sanctioned by our Lord.
4. They were not allowed a place among the sacred books, during the first four centuries of the Christian Church.
5. They contain fabulous statements, and statements which contradict not only the canonical Scriptures, but themselves; as when, in the two Books of Maccabees, Antiochus Epiphanes is made to die three different deaths in as many different places.
6. It inculcates doctrines at variance with the Bible, such as prayers for the dead and sinless perfection.
7.
It teaches immoral practices, such as lying, suicide, assassination
and magical incantation.
Sample Apocrypha Verses
And Scripture Proving Their Error:
1. Basis For The
Doctrine of Purgatory in The Catholic Religion:
"2,000
pieces of silver were sent to Jerusalem for a
sin-offering...Whereupon he made reconciliation for the dead, that
they might be delivered from sin." - 2 Maccabees 12:43-45
There
is only one way to be delivered by sin and that is through faith in
the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and they had to
be alive. No one who dies and does not know Christ goes to heaven and
no one can pay a dead persons way to heaven. Salvation is a gift, not
something one can pay for because Jesus Christ paid for all the sins
of man.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift
of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
- Romans 6:23.
2.
Salvation Gotten by works:
Ecclesiasticus 3:30, "Water
will quench a flaming fire, and alms maketh atonement for sin. Tobit
12:8-9, 17, "It is better to give alms than to lay up gold; for
alms doth deliver from death, and shall purge away all sin."
No
one can work their way to heaven, as stated above, it is a gift, but
unless you accept that gift you do not get to heaven no matter how
much you do for the church or how good you try to be.
"Knowing
that a man is not justified by the works
of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed
in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ,
and not by the works
of the law: for by the works
of the law shall no flesh be justified." - Galatians
2:16.
3.
The Use of Magic:
Tobit
6:5-8, "If the Devil, or an evil spirit troubles anyone, they
can be driven away by making a smoke of the heart, liver, and gall of
a fish...and the Devil will smell it, and flee away, and never come
again anymore."
Magic
is evil in itself, all witchcraft, including reading horoscopes is
works of evil and an abomination to God.
"Now
the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the
which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that
they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
- Galatians 5:19-21.
