The
Bible was written using about forty Holy Spirit inspired men to write
down the words that God gave them over a period of 1500 years. Some
of them lived to tell the story themselves, others were directed by
the Holy Spirit in what to write. Take Moses for instance, he was
born around 1635 BC while the earth was created around 4004 BC,
there is no way Moses could have seen what was going on then, but he
was the author of the Book of Genesis. One example of being led by
the Holy Spirit to write about God creating the world.
Think
of it this way, a court transcriber transcribes, types, or writes,
everything that is being said in a court room. He or she is not
coming up with these words on their own, they are typing word for
word what is being said. These men were transcribing or putting on
paper what God told them to write.
There are countless
events in history that prove all the prophecies, wars, and even
catastrophes of the world existed, including the flood recorded in
the Book of Genesis, over 4000 years ago.
Scripture
Proving the Holy Spirit Inspired Men to Write His Word:
"All
scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:" - II
Timothy 3:16
"But
there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration
of the Almighty giveth them understanding." - Job
32:8
"He
that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is
true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God
giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son,
and hath given all things into his hand." - John 3:33-35
