There is Only One God and He created the heavens and earth and all of creation. The false gods that people follow are man made, they are idols, statues, possessions, hobbies, careers, and other worldly things that God commands us to stay away from. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." -Exodus 20:3-4

Many people make the mistake of believing that God is what we make Him out to be, but that is completely false. Do not mistake an evil spirit for the One and Only True God. "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." - I John 4:1-3

There is only one True God and those who choose to follow other gods are being deceived and not living the blessed life God intended them to have. Oh they might enjoy life for a while, but it never lasts and always leaves searching for more to satisfy their need.

Scriptures Showing There Is Only One God:
"Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God." - Leviticus 26:1

"But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens." -Jeremiah 10:10-11

"These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." -John 17:1-3

"For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come." - Thessalonians 1:9-10
