Jesus said, quoting a verse from the Book of Deuteronomy when being tempted by the devil, "It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." - Luke 4:4

This means that we are to learn and know every word that God has given us. It does not mean that it is okay for a person to create a version of the Bible in his own words and say, this is what God has said. It is one thing to do a Bible study or give an opinion on what God is saying in His Word, it is another to alter or change His Word, even down to the last thou.

When a new version of the Bible is published that means that it must have at least 20% of the original text changed or altered to avoid copy write laws. This is why versions other than the King James version are called paraphrase versions, they are not God's Word, but people explaining in their own words what the King James version is trying to tell you.

The Bible says, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." - Revelation 22:18,19.

This means that if any one adds, takes out, or alters  even one single word from God's Word then they will not go to heaven. This includes all those who have altered every version of the original text of the Bible and created a version of their own. The Bible was transcribed by Holy Spirit inspired men of God originally in the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek language. The King James Version is the only version that was translated into a language that all could understand and it is still being made into other translations today so all can know the truest form of God's Word.

Scripture That Shows We Are To Learn Every Word From God:

"And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by
every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live." - Deuteronomy 8:3

"
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going." - Proverbs 14:15

"
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." - Proverbs 30:5
