Sin is any wrong doing in your life, it is anything unrighteous, in other words, any action, thought, or word spoken that is wicked, immoral, deceitful, or illegal. “All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.” - I John 5:17.

Sin includes more than just stealing, cheating, and adultery, it is also acts such as rebellion, disbelief, lying, and disobedience of any sort. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” - Revelation 21:8.

We are all sinners, no one is without sin, no matter how much one tries to keep the wrongs out of their lives, we have all sinned at one time in our lives and come short of the glory of God (getting to heaven on our own). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” - Romans 3:23.
