No
matter how many things you possess, people you know, or talents you
have a person that does not know God is always searching for
something more. They are never satisfied with what they have and are
always in need of something bigger and better to help them fill the
void missing in their lives. King Solomon wrote an entire book on how
important it is to know God and no matter what you have without God
all is vanity. That book is called the book of Ecclesiastes, take the
time to read it and you will discover that no possession can
take the place of God.
Scriptures Showing Having Everything
Means Nothing Without God:
"And I
gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things
that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the
sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that
are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation
(confusion) of spirit. That which is crooked cannot be made straight:
and that which is wanting cannot be numbered."
- Ecclesiastes 1:13-15
"And
yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass
of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven,
shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink?
or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do
the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have
need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and
his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
- Matthew 6:29-33
"And
when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he
said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his
life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and
the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man,
if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what
shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall
be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he
cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
- Mark 8:34-38
