Roman Catholic Churches (source saintaquinas.com)
Roman Catholic churches believe in the special authority of the pope, the ability of saints to intercede on behalf of believers, the concept of Purgatory as a place of afterlife purification before entering Heaven, and the doctrine of transubstantiation - that is, that the bread used in the Eucharist becomes the true body of Christ when blessed by a priest, and that the virgin Mary has as much authority as Jesus. There is only one person capable of interceding before believers and that is Jesus Christ Himself. He is the mediator between you and God and the only one who has the ability to to purify someone. There is no such thing as purgatory, you either go straight to heaven or hell, unless you have received Christ as your Savior that destination is hell.

Beliefs of The Catholics:

  1. God: There is only one true God who is creator of all heaven and earth. God is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness, and love. These attributes are reflected in his creation: the universe and human kind. God himself is triune in nature; this means that he is composed of three persons in one nature. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the three persons in the Trinity and together exist as one unified and eternal God.

There is only One Almighty living God, in the form of three persons, God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The first person in the Godhead. But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.- Jeremiah 10:10,11. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.-I John 5:7.

  2. Jesus Christ: The second member of the divine Trinity, is the messiah of all humankind. Christ is the true God and through him all things were created. Following the fall of mankind, humanity could not be reconciled with their perfect and just creator through its own power.

Jesus is the son of God and the second person in the Godhead, sinless, and perfect, Who died to save sinners. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.-John 3:16. Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus, was not sinless, she was born like the rest of us, she just found favor with God.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” - Like 1:30,31.

  3. The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third member of the divine Godhead (Trinity) and is the essence of divine love between the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit’s relation to humankind is in the embodiment of deep, personal love between God and man.

The Holy Spirit is third person in the Godhead, also known as the Holy Ghost, or the Spirit of God, He lives within all who receives Christ as their Savior. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” -Ephesians 1:13.

  4. Sin: The first sin of disobedience resulted in death to the spiritual nature of humankind. The Church teaches that humans are a union of body and soul. Hence, the original sin attributed to our first parents wounded the nature of our first parents and their progeny. As a consequence, all children born into the world lack spiritual life (also called grace) in their soul. The lack of grace prevents a person from inheriting everlasting spiritual life after bodily death.

Sin is any wrong doing in the eyes of God with the body, mind, or mouth. Sin, separates us from God as a result of the first sin by Adam. That sin committed, resulted in a spiritual death, meaning God's Spirit was removed, and it was passed down to all of us. Therefore, when a person is born under normal conception, it is born with just body and soul, having no Spirit.Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:-Romans 5:12.

  5. Sinner: Sin is a corruption of the will and an abuse of the gift of freedom, which God so lovingly gives us. By sin, man chooses himself over love for his creator and shuns divine justice and love. For God does not reject us, rather man rejects God. This rejection of God and violation of the just laws of our Creator drive away grace from the offender’s soul and rob it of divine life. A soul without grace cannot pass on into heaven after death, and is doomed to suffer in hell, a place set forth by God for all those who reject his love and mercy.

    E
veryone except Christ was born with a sin nature, because we were born through normal conception, this was passed down to man from Adam. A sinner is someone who has sinned at least once in their lifetime. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God...For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” - Romans 3:10,11,23.

  6. Heaven and Hell: Hell: The place of punishment for the damned, including limbo of infants, limbo of the Fathers, and purgatory. Heaven and hell are real. They're part of a viewpoint that's fully Catholic and Purgatory is simply a transitional state for those who have merited heaven but still have aspects of their souls that are not yet fully purified. Purgatory is where that purification happens after death.

Heaven, the place where God, Jesus, angels, and all those who believe in and receive Christ dwell. Hell a place of torment and eternal damnation, all who are receive Christ receive eternal life enter heaven upon the death of the body, all who reject Christ receive eternal death and hell upon the death of the body and a second death when Christ returns. To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,-I Peter 1:4. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.- Revelation 1:18. “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.- Revelation 20:14. “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;-II Peter 2:4.

There is no such thing as purgatory or being in limbo, the second a soul receives Jesus Christ as it's Savior it is automatically cleansed or purified from all sin. Why? We are saved by grace through Christ alone, He is our righteousness, the one who purifies us. Unless you personally receive Christ as your Savior you will end up in hell. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)..That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” - Romans 5:16,17,21.

Babies cannot be sent to hell because sin in unknown to them, we become accountable for sin when we learn how to commit sin.For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” - Romans 14:11,12.

  1. Christ's Death, Burial, & Resurrection: Through his suffering and death, Jesus redeemed man once & for all, freeing him from slavery to sin, evil, and death. It is for our sins that he died. The Resurrection was a real, historical event. It is the basis for our faith in all Jesus revealed to us. Jesus rose from the dead, body and soul, early on the Sunday morning after his death.

Christ died the sinless Lamb to be the atonement for the sinner, He was buried and arose three days later to give all who believe in and receive Him victory over sin, death, and hell. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.-Romans 10:9,10.

  2. Salvation: God has given us the gift of free will. The death of Christ on the cross opened the gates of heaven so that all people might be saved, but because of free will we can choose to reject Christ’s free gift of redemption. Christ’s death on the cross cannot force anyone into heaven, and it is conditional. Only those who return the love of Christ and obey his conditions can justify their place in the kingdom of heaven. We call this process justification.

Salvation only comes by faith in Christ alone, we are not saved from sin, death, and hell by works of the law, but by believing in the Gospel, receiving Him as our Savior, and trusting only in Him to save us.For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.-Ephesians 2:8

  3. Eternal Life: Jesus makes it clear that we are justified firstly be the free gift of grace through baptism and secondly by obeying the commandments out of faith, hope and charity. Notice Christ’s exact wording, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." This not only means that we refrain from evil toward our neighbor, but that we obey the positive spirit of Jesus two commandments and the beatitudes he preached at the Sermon on the Plain and the Sermon on the Mount. Not only are baptism, repentance, faith, and obeying the commandments necessary for justification, but also good works for love of God and neighbors.

Everlasting life is given freely to all who have received Christ as their Savior, it means forever, any sin committed after we are saved sin cannot take it away because we are saved by grace, not works. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:-I Peter 3:18.

  4. Baptism: A sacrament that regenerates and justifies, and is done in infancy.

Baptism is not necessary at birth, it is not even necessary after one is save, it is a public profession of faith by a person who has received Christ as their Savior. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:-Romans 6:4,5.

  5. Bible: the Bible, as interpreted by the church, but also found in church tradition.

The Word of God, the perfect, infallible, words of the only living God, that always has been before the world began, written by the inspiration of God, and made flesh in the form of Jesus Christ. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” - John 1:1-3,14. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” - II Timothy 3:16,17.
